PLEXOS International,
has been chosen under emergency contract with the East Baton Rouge City Parish
Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP) to provide it
OEPEnable and PeopleTracker software packages for relief efforts after
Hurricane Katrina. With the huge influx
of Hurricane Evacuees into the City Parish, OHSEP needed a way to better manage
shelters, shelter occupants and relief efforts.
The PLEXOS International OEPEnable and PeopleTracker software packages were implemented to help
manage these efforts. With the success
of the integrated system, OHSEP was able to quickly locate and repatriate
families with their loved ones.
OEPEnable is an emergency
response package developed by PLEXOS to provide a GIS and digital Whiteboard
approach to managing information in a crisis.
The GIS functionality of the software package allows for storage and
display of crisis events and status information by geographic location. The application operates on an open client
server database with inputs from various agencies. The whiteboard allows for display of data
grids, graphs, streaming video and audio, web pages, and images on a digital
whiteboard. PeopleTracker is a remote
facility application that allows for the management of evacuee data which is
then imported into OEPEnable.
